August 12: Tbilisi & Mtskheta Discovery

🏞️ Stop 1: Martvili Canyon

  • The canyon is a natural wonder. It used to be a bath place for Georgian Nobles, Dadiani family. Now it represents a touristic site. People visit it to enjoy the scenery, its waterfalls and take a boat trip in the river with deep green color. Visitors can enjoy a 300-meter boat tour on the Abasha River and beautiful views of the mountain river canyon.
  • Driving time to Dendrological Park: ~1 hour 50 minutes.

🌳 Stop 2: Dendrological Park

  • From Martvili Canyon, you will continue your journey to Batumi. You will have a stop(if the park works on that day) at the Dendrological Park of Batumi, built by the richest person in Georgia – Bidzina Ivanishvili. The park is free for visitors; it combines exotic animals, rare plants, and beautiful scenery.
  • Driving time to Batumi: ~60 minutes.

🌆 Arrival & Evening in Batumi

  • You will reach Batumi in the evening. Batumi is the most developed and popular summer resort in Georgia, often called the Las Vegas of Georgia. It offers numerous attractions to visitors, including the historic old streets of Batumi, the modern 7 km long boulevard, and the stone beaches where you can spend your evening, visit the famous Ali and Nino statue, and take a walk along the boulevard.

  • You will meet your driver in the morning again. This is going to be a short day (about 6 hours). As long as the Dashbashi canyon (the Diamond bridge) is only 100 km away from Tbilisi, it takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes to reach.

💎 Exploring the Canyon

  • Dashbashi Canyon is a combination of a natural wonder and modern architecture. A giant swing and a roped bicycle are available as side activities. A 3-hour back-and-forth walk is required to reach the bottom of the canyon itself (most of the people don’t do it).

🏁 Return to Tbilisi

  • After 1-3 hours of exploring, you will take the 1 hour and 50-minute drive back to Tbilisi.
