📍 Geography & Course

The Lopota begins as a swift mountain river. It carves a deep and scenic gorge as it flows southward. The Lopota Lake Resort is located in the lower part of this gorge, where the valley begins to widen. After passing the resort, the river continues across the Alazani plain to join the Alazani River.

The upper Lopota gorge is a pristine natural environment with dense deciduous forests rich in biodiversity. It is a habitat for wildlife such as roe deer, wild boars, and various forest birds.
