Join us for a beautiful day trip from Tbilisi to Kakheti, Georgia’s famous wine region! We will taste delicious local wine, explore a stunning desert monastery carved into the mountains, and visit the romantic town of Signagi.
We will pick you up from your designated location in Tbilisi in the morning to start our exciting journey to the Kakheti region.
Our first stop is at a famous traditional winery. You will learn how Georgians have made wine in special clay pots (called Qvevri) for 8,000 years! You can taste some of our best local wines for free, including the famous Saperavi and Rkatsiteli.
Next, we drive to an amazing place right on the border of Azerbaijan. We will explore the David Gareja Monastery, a holy place carved directly into the rocky mountains in the 6th century. You will see ancient icons on the walls and enjoy the quiet, beautiful desert views.
We will then travel to Signagi, one of the prettiest towns in Georgia. You will love walking on its old stone streets. From here, you get breathtaking views of the green Alazani Valley and the huge snowy Caucasus Mountains. We will also explore the long defensive stone wall that surrounds the city and check out local handmade crafts.
Just outside of Signagi, we will visit the holy Bodbe Monastery. This beautiful place has lovely, peaceful gardens. It is very important to us because Saint Nino, the woman who brought Christianity to Georgia, rests here.
After a wonderful day full of ancient history, amazing wine, and great views, we will drive you safely back to Tbilisi so you can relax.
